Hotel is clean and updated, but the young girl who works at the front counter was very rude while checking in. After a long day, I’d expect to arrive, greeted professionally, and be checked in to my room without inappropriate comments while being checked in.
While she looked like she was maybe college-age at most and still immature, she should be taught how to properly treat people in the service industry before ever being in a customer-facing situation. Please train staff to be more professional or you won’t have return customers.
This could have been a 5-star stay but it fell apart. Check-in was fantastic. Once checked in, we checked out my mother's room and it was spotless. We were impressed. Next, I checked out our room and at first glance everything seemed perfect. That was until I decided to rest my head on the pillows. Once on the pillows, I kept smelling what appeared to be "body odor". It was so strong that I got up and inspected my pillows. I noticed all of the pillowcases were uncommonly wrinkled (the pillowcases in my mother's room only had slight creases but not fully wrinkled like mine). I then did a sniff test on all of the pillows and realized that the pillowcases had not been changed. I also noticed stains on one of the pillows. I was upset and started inspecting the entire bed. The sheets seemed ok but then there was a yellow spot on the duvet. I immediately notified the front desk and she had me come down and get new pillowcases.
As if the above incident wasn't bad enough, I decided to check the bathroom. Initially, it looked cleaned. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the floors only "appeared" clean but were dirty. Under the face bowl was the dirtiest (I will admit, though, the rest of the room including the bathroom was spotless). I don't really care that the rest of the room was spotless if all of the linen isn't replaced and I end up lying in someone's body odor. Ruined all the other positives. They need to change the linen after every stay!
Our first time staying in Charlotte, we arrived to the hotel around 8:45a forgetting that check in is at 3p. We were immediately greeted by Nakeya and she explained to us that our room was not yet ready due to how early we had arrived. That was no problem at all because we had work we could do. The lobby was very nice and clean and we just got breakfast and coffee while we waited. About an hour and a half later around 10:30a, Nakeya came up to us and let us know that our room was ready. She originally told us our room would be ready around noon, but she went above and beyond to get us in our room earlier. She was extremely helpful and kind during our check in. The room is very clean, updated, and modern. Bathroom is clean as well and stocked with plenty of towels. We are very pleased with our room and the exceptional customer service we received from Nakeya!!!!
My family and I stayed at this hotel for Christmas December 24-26 2023. Our stay was going awesome until the morning of December 26th. We woke up to go down to have breakfast. Being that the other two days they were on a "holiday" schedule we were given bag type breakfast. No problem because we understood the staff needed to spend time with their families as well. However, on the morning of the 26th my family and I are casually looking at the menu, while 2 other ladies are being served. The lady at the register looks directly at me and rudely yells, we only have eggs and something else she said but, I'd tuned her out. I grabbed my daughter by the hand and I said come on let's go back upstairs and get our luggage so I can check out. My husband followed. Once we retrieved our luggage my husband and daughter went to the car. As I was checking out I asked the young lady at the desk about the menu because my daughter didn't eat eggs. Out of nowhere here comes this lady from the breakfast area asking me what my problem was. I later found out her name was Bronze. I asked her to step away from me and told her I was not speaking to her. She continued to engage me with a big purple bonnet on. Instead of being at a high class hotel I really felt like I was at some low class budget hotel. This women continued to go back and forth with me until I asked for the manager. The manager had to literally walk her away to the back. Then Bronze pulls out her phone. By now I've gone outside and gotten my husband from the car. The best they did was credit my account $100. That's fine but, Bronze doesn't need to be working at anyone's establishment with a bonnet helping customers being rude and nasty! I will definitely be filing a complaint with corporate as well. The hotel itself was beautiful. The area beautiful. The staff was amazing until we ran into Bronze. She should have been walked out of there immediately the way she was carrying on.
Courtyard Marriott agent Cory goes above and beyond the call of duty in customer service. When it comes to cleanliness and a modern room feel this Courtyard outweighs all other Courtyards in this city.
Went for a job to start and do onboarding and first thing I was not greeted as well as the first thing I saw was a woman at the eatery cussing and a security guard on her phone with the phone conversation unpleasant
Then to top it off the police were there early morning!
This is the Marriott???
Corporate needs to hire a better staff to have a safe place for workers!
Sucha big disappointment one of the least expected from Marriott...the room did not have the lights going on and when issue raised they said they don't have maintenance staff to look into it, there is no body lotion and basic toiletries in the room, they charge a premium, when asked at the front desk they mentioned that they don't give lotion anymore, there was one courteous staff who gave me her personal lotion to use.
The front desk is empty most of the time...had to wait 20 mins to be checked in.
The only consolation is that this is right next to the outlet mall and you can get your shoping done....
It's everything you should expect. But know that there is not an à la carte breakfast. If you pay to have breakfast included you have to order it from the little bar area in the morning. And while it's very tasty and fresh it takes a little while. And you don't have access to the full menu only a couple things.
